WSDCF Fishing for Seminarians

The Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation held their annual Bishop’s Fishing Tournament for Seminarians on June 8 at the Missouri River near Pierre. West River represented with 33 teams on the water, 109 fisherman, and more than 150 people who joined the evening Mass and dinner. It was held in conjunction with the Sioux Falls Catholic Foundation. Winners from the Diocese of Rapid City in overall competition included:

• Most Total Weight | Bass – 1st Place |16.54 lbs. | Shane Sevryn & Karl Schweiss
• Most Total Weight | Bass – 2nd Place | 12.34 lbs. | Greg Schweiss, Steve Gossman, and Kira Gossman
• Largest Bass by Adult | 3.86 lbs. | Karl Schweiss
• Knights of Columbus Challenge | Most Total Weight – Custer Council #4984 | 9.64 lbs. | Joseph & Judy Uhrich, Cayden Vogel, and Paul Yantes
