May 17, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Rapid City, the Filipino Community held its first Santacruzan & Flores de Mayo, a celebration of faith that lifts up the beauty, grace and virtues of Mary, who always leads us to her Son, Jesus Christ. The celebration features a solemn procession of 25 reynas (queens) with the Rosary, flowers, hymns, and prayers. It also honors St. Helena, finder of the true Cross. The procession traveled around the outside of the cathedral and was followed by Mass and a dinner. (WRC photos by Laurie Hallstrom)
