National Catholic Schools Week

To start NCSW, Fr. Edmund Yainao joined students during early morning prayer time to share a special message and pray over them. He reminded our students that Sapa Un is more than a school — it is a second home. His message focused on perseverance, education, character, and faith, encouraging our students to grow strong in God’s truth and light. After prayer time, Fr. Edmund walked through the classrooms and hallways to give a special blessing with holy water and prayers, while three of our students assisted by smudging.

Jenny Black Bear and Rhea Two Eagle, Religious Education staff, come in to teach during the week. Oder middle school students researched and presented on saints of their choosing — including St. Kateri Tekakwitha, St. Patrick, and St. Valentine. The younger students learned about their faith and also explored the meaning of the Mass — why we sit, stand, and pray together, and what each part of the Mass represents.

They ended the week with Mass with all SFM staff and Sapa Un students, celebrated by Fr. Edmund.
