Cornerstone Rescue Mission

Feb. 9, to bring attention to homelessness, Bishop Scott Bullock served dinner at the Cornerstone Rescue Mission alongside Cathedral parishioners. Rapid City has the only homeless shelter in western S.D. It serves an average of 80 to 100 men per night. On very cold nights, there can be 70 people sleeping on the floor. The mission serves 400 meals daily. (Left to Right) Dan Duffy, John Hill, Bishop Bullock, Stephanie Hurd and Karrie Duffy are ready for the serving line to open. Other parishioners kept food ready to replenish the serving line. The St. Martin Benedictine Sisters have established a fund at the Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation which provides ongoing support for the rescue mission.
