A year ago, fifteen Catholic parishes and organizations teamed up to build four homes for Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity in Rapid City. On December 12, the first one was dedicated. Fr. Kerry Prendiville from St. Therese Church, did the official house blessing. Also on hand were Habitat staff, volunteers and the St. Elizabeth Seton Elementary Student CouncilHolley Elk Boy shows her son a quilt made for him by Blessed Sacrament Church quilters. She is the new homeowner. Applicants must complete 250 service hours and learn about home repairs and finances. Area Catholics have three other homes in various stages of completion.
