WSDCF Fishing for Seminarians tournament results

The Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation, Rapid City, held two fishing tournaments and a raffle in June to raise money for seminarian education. On June 17 the Family Fishing Tournament was held at Canyon Lake Dam with support from Blessed Sacrament Church, Rapid City. The winners were — 1st place Tel Guptill, Philip; 2nd place went to Brigid, Gianna and Kiara Gebes, Whitewood; and 3rd place to Ryan Thompson, Black Hawk.

On June 24 the Bishop’s Fishing Tournament was held at Shadehill Reservoir with support from St. Mary’s Church, Lemmon, and Blessed Sacrament Church, Bison. The largest walleye prize went to Jim Straight, Lemmon; followed by Fr. Mark McCormick, Rapid City; and Fr. Adam Hofer, Lemmon. The heaviest fish prize went to Kaden Kvale, Lemmon; 2nd place Alan Voller, Bison; and 3rd place to Mark and Brandon Baumeister, Lemmon. The parish challenge winner was St. Mary’s, Lemmon. Raffle winners included: 1st place Kate Thomas, 2nd place Chad Hilt, and 3rd place Don Wiesler, all from Rapid City.
