Rite of Institution to Acolyte
November 4, Bishop Peter Muhich instituted five men to the order of acolyte. It is a step toward being ordained a permanent deacon. The deacon candidates included Gary Ekroth, St. Joseph, Gregory; James Hulm, Holy Cross, Timber Lake; Timothy Minihan, St. Patrick, Lead; Matthew Snyder, St. Michael, Hermosa; and Philip Thomson, OLBH, Piedmont. The men are in the deacon formation program under the direction of Dcn. Greg Sass. These men, with their wives, are in the final year of formation. If they are called to orders, they will be ordained after the canonical retreat scheduled for August 2023.
