At St. Mary Church in Lemmon, they celebrated the Vigil of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Aug. 14, accompanied by three of the diocesan seminarians. Fr. Adam Hofer took a selfie of the group. Dillon Johnson was there this summer as part of his pastoral assignment. Gabe Fanning has family in this area and was up visiting them. Blane Schriock is from Watauga, one of the local parishes, and so he came over to assist with the Mass as well. After Mass, the parish had a barbecue downtown at the community center; it was followed by the Lemmon movie theater showing a documentary “Radiating Joy” about Michelle Duppong. She is a woman from the Diocese of Bismarck whose cause has been opened for sainthood. The celebration was tied to the 75th anniversary of the dedication of the church building on September 7.
