The Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation, Board of Directors, met in November. Board members selected the recipients for the 23/24 Grant Awards. The Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation was created to ensure the financial stability of ministries within the Diocese of Rapid City. The mission of the foundation was established as promoting and strengthening the Catholic Church by providing people an opportunity to contribute to a permanent endowment fund, and make other types of gifts that will provide financial resources for meeting the spiritual needs of future generations of Catholics in the diocese. Checks will be issued next summer.

A total of $1,081,524.59 will be given to the following churches and organizations: Catholic Social Services, Rapid City; Rapid City Newman Center, Rapid City; St. Vincent de Paul Society, Rapid City; All Saints Parish, Eagle Butte; St. Mary Church, Lemmon; Sioux Spiritual Center, Howes; St. Francis Fund, Diocese of Rapid City;🏙️Casa Maria Retirement Center, Piedmont; Priest Retirement & Aid Association; Diocese of Rapid City; Standing Rock Reservation Ministry, McLaughlin; Diocesan Office of Vocations; St. Francis Mission, St. Francis; Black Hills State University Newman Ctr., Spearfish; Rapid City Catholic School System; Real Presence Radio, Rapid City; Our Lady Black Hills Church, Piedmont.
