Knights lead Silver Rose Procession
On June 5, the Knights of Columbus council #8844, Blessed Sacrament Church, hosted a Silver Rose program after the 1:30 Spanish Mass. The program included a procession into Mass with the Silver Rose being carried by brother Knight Brandon Thomas through a procession of fourth-degree honor guard and displayed in front of a picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe. After mass Father Mark Horn led the rosary as the group processed from the church across the parking — led by the fourth-degree honor guard followed by the Silver Rose, and then the congregation — to the memorial for the unborn where we concluded the rosary, songs and final prayer.
Each year, from early March through mid-December, Silver Roses are stewarded by Knights of Columbus councils along routes from Canada to Mexico. Every stop the Silver Rose makes throughout the pilgrimage is a rosary-centered occasion for Knights, parishioners and community members to pray for respect for life, for the spiritual renewal of each nation, and for the advancement of the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
