National Eucharistic Pilgrimage

This Spring Jesus, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, will process from North, South, East and West in four routes across our country, praying for hearts to be set on fire, healed and renewed. Perpetual pilgrims will spend 60 days on the road and host over 1000 events. On July 17th, 2024 the four routes will converge in Indianapolis, IN for the opening of the first National Eucharistic Congress in 83 years.

The Diocese of Rapid City encourages families, parishioners, and youth groups to take part in this unprecedented event! The National Pilgrimage – Serra Route travels through Western Nebraska in June, only a few hours from us!

There are many events scheduled as the Procession moves through the Diocese of Grand Island, and after looking through the various events and opportunities we recommend the following as the option for a true pilgrimage experience:

  • Join the perpetual pilgrims as they arrive in Ogallala, NE on the evening of June 13th
    • Optional Community Potluck from 6-7 pm
    • Holy Hour from 7:30 – 8:30 pm
  • Because hotel accommodations are very limited, we would suggest camping that night at Lake McConaughy. There are over 100 camping sites in several campgrounds.  Reserve yours here:
  • Join the perpetual pilgrims for Mass on the morning of June 14th and walk 7 miles with them to Roscoe, NE.
    • Coordinate a ride back for your group from Roscoe.
    • Bring along a water bottle, sack lunch and snacks if desired.
  • Those joining the National Pilgrimage anywhere are strongly encouraged to register so that organizers can plan for you. Register for any of the events in Western Nebraska and see a detailed schedule at:

We would be joining the Serra Route.
