Christmas in Lemmon

The 6th grade Confirmation youth at St. Mary Church in Lemmon has children from three of the four parishes in the Northern Plains Catholic Ministries, including Sacred Heart Church in Morristown, and St. Michael Church in Watauga. Confirmation teacher, Tonya Newsome, organized a visit to the Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon where the kids decorated Christmas trees and sang carols for the residents and staff. As a November service project, this same group collected donations and packaged boxes for the Box of Joy program. 

The teen group photo is from the Life Teen group, which meets on Wednesdays at St. Mary Church and includes youth from all four parishes — in addition to the towns listed above there are also students from St. Bonaventure in McIntosh. Youth Director Jenny Dirk said, “We had our Luau Beach Christmas Celebration at the Beeler Community Center in Lemmon on December 13. We began our night with a meal that was prepared and donated by a member of our parish family. Next, they played a high-spirited beach/Christmas themed relay game. To finish out the night, the youth played three lighthearted, yet competitive, games of volleyball. Twenty-four teens, five core team members, and Fr. Adam Hofer participated in the celebration.”
