Fr. Adam Hofer, from Lemmon, is a chaplain with the 147th Field Artillery unit out of Watertown and diocesan seminarian Liam Pelayic, Rapid City, has the rank of Specialist as a senior medic for the 842nd Engineering Company out of Spearfish. Both of their South Dakota Army National Guard units conducted two-week annual training at Camp Ripley, Minnesota, at the same time and location.
