The Heart to Heart Weekend Retreat for the Engaged is one of the requirements for engaged couples preparing for Marriage in the Diocese of Rapid City. The retreat is designed to provide couples with an opportunity to deepen your relationship with one another and with God through a series of talks, activities, prayer experiences and quiet time for reflection. We ask you to bring an attitude of eagerness and openness to talk with your beloved, to pray to God, and to quietly listen to your heart. This is a chance to step away from the ordinary–from work, from recreation and from distractions. It is a time for you to relax and to spend quiet time with each other and with God.

The retreat begins with dinner at 6pm on Friday and concludes after lunch on Sunday. You’re welcome to check-in anytime between 5pm and 6pm. Meals are provided from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch.

We invite you to join us for a weekend retreat dedicated to the theme of: “Spiritual Battle and Discernment of Spirits.” This is a relevant theme, not only for Lent, but for our own growth in our spiritual life, as we learn how to discern God’s voice among the many other competing “voices” that can tend to confuse and distract us.

This promises to be an incredible opportunity for prayer, silence, formation, and reflection. It will be a weekend of encountering Christ and the many graces He desires to give.

The retreat will be directed by the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary and members of the Pastoral Ministry Team; the chaplain will be Fr. Mark McCormick.

The retreat will begin at 5:30pm on Friday, March 24. The retreat will conclude after lunch on Sunday, March 26.

Retreat Details:
– Please bring with you a Bible, journal, and Rosary
– Holy Mass will be celebrated daily, and the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation will also be available.
– We invite you to consider bringing a snack to share!
