Year for Priests closing Mass

The closing Mass for the Year for Priests was held June 24 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Bishop Blase Cupich was the principal celebrant and Archbishop Emeritus John R. Quinn of San Francisco, Calif., was the homilist. The archbishop paid tribute to the priests of the diocese by calling them the "unsung hero's of our time. … They lead the people to Christ." The general intercessions were read in English, Polish, Ugandan, Spanish, and Lakota — languages spoken by the priests and deacons of the diocese. (Above) Priests of the diocese process in.
