“We are Easter people,” St. Augustine
said centuries ago. If that is true, Easter is all
around us — in parents who sacrifice for their
children, in health care workers serving the sick,
in the suffering and poor who don’t lose
hope, in those who suffer injustice yet still love.
In these, and in so many others, the dying and
rising of Christ takes place.
