Catholic University Scholarship winner announced
Emily Weber has been awarded the Catholic University of America (CUA) Scholarship for the Diocese of Rapid City. It is a full, four-year scholarship paid for anonymously.
Weber, a senior at Central High School, Rapid City, has been involved with theater and music for the past four years. She is a four year participant in All-State Orchestra and recently won the 2008 Young Vocal Artists Contest. For two years she planned and organized music for Life Night at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. She is also a member of the National Honor Society.
Although she has yet to see the campus, Weber is excited about the opportunity to “be away from home and still have people around with a similar faith to support me and my faith,” she said.
Her parents are Michael and Angela Weber. They are members of the Cathedral of Out Lady of Perpetual Help.
She is the fifth student to receive the diocesan scholarship. Previous winners include Eulalia Muñoz (2004), Joe Gonzalez (2005), Philip Birgenheir (2006), and Jacqueline Orwick (2007).
