MARRIAGE AND INVALIDITY Reconciliation and Healing
HOW MUCH DOES A STUDY COST?
An accounting of costs is kept
by the Tribunal throughout the case and at the close of the case,
the Petitioner is asked to pay a portion of the total cost. No
one is penalized for inability to pay the incurred costs, and
payment plans are negotiated as needed. Under the present system,
the Petitioner pays approximately $305.00 for a study. A formal
marriage study costs the Diocese of Rapid City approximately
$1051. When a Petitioner submits a petition they are asked to
enclose a check for $100 or request a payment plan. The diocese
covers the additional costs incurred through the annual Stewardship
Appeal. In some instances, for example, with multiple marriages
or a requirement for psychiatric consultation, there may be added
costs to the Petitioner.
