Natural Family Planning Ministry

Attending a Christian Family Planning Seminar is a requirement for all couples planning to marry in the Catholic Diocese of Rapid City. The seminar is also an enriching experience for married couples and anyone wanting to know more about Natural Family Planning and the Church's teachings. Below is the schedule of the seminars along with a pre-registration form.

Pre-registration is required one week prior to your scheduled seminar.  Registration forms are available at the link below. Seminars are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon (local time) — please plan to arrive by 8:45 a.m. to check in. Seminars held in Ft. Pierre begin at 9 a.m. Central time zone. September 11, St. John the Evangelist, Ft. Pierre (Central time zone)
October 23, St. John the Baptist, Custer
November 13, St. Joseph, Spearfish

Natural Family Planning Methods and Teachers

Creighton Model Fertility Care™ System: Teachers meet individually with a couple at regular intervals over the course of a year. Additional instruction is available as needed. Practitioners are educated at the Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, NE; certification is through the American Academy of Natural Family Planning.

Sympto-Thermal Method (Couple to Couple League): Certified teachers provide instruction on the signs of fertility to groups of couples in a series of classroom-style presentations.
